  • Childbirth Choices Matter

Childbirth Choices Matter are a collective of women, doulas, NHS midwives and independent midwives (IMs) who have come together to strengthen the rights of women and birthing people to choose the circumstances in which they give birth to their babies, including place of birth and midwifery led continuity of carer.

The key objectives of the Campaign are:
    · to strengthen the rights of women and birthing people to choose the circumstances in which they give birth to their babies
    · to enable self-employed midwives to be able to provide maternity care that is dignified and driven by choice
    · to ensure that midwifery is a profession that is autonomous and able to support women and birthing peoples choices by working independently of the NHS if needed
    · to facilitate increased choice for women and birthing people who are at increased risk of negative outcomes and experiences in maternity care, through the provision of affordable (or free) personalised care to mitigate these risks and improve disproportionate adverse outcomes for Black and brown women and birthing people

  • March with Midwives

March With Midwives envision a UK maternity workforce that operates within a culture of respect, autonomy and choice that enables them to support women and birthing people to achieve healthy, safe and fulfilling maternity journeys.

March With Midwives works in solidarity with health care professionals and the families in their care. We aim to raise awareness of the critical state of UK maternity services and campaign to prevent unnecessary harm.

White Ribbon Alliance UK support the MWM campaign through representation on their steering committee and by attending all of the marches and events that the grassroots movement organise throughout the year.

  • Be Free From Harm: WRA Campaign

#BeFreeFromHarm calls for a people-led movement of activists, individuals, organisations, institutions, and networks to stand together as a movement to claim, demand and create a culture of non-tolerance towards gender-based violence. We do this by asking, listening to and acting upon real people’s experiences, concerns and solutions to drive = change locally, nationally and globally

Ending violence and harm is not the responsibility of those who experience it. Together we can cut off the oxygen supply to the fire that is gender-based violence by acting on solutions rooted in local knowledge, recognition, help and healing. We can create a culture of non-tolerance through by uniting our voices to demand ‘enough is enough’. Join the ALA movement to get more involved in the #BeFreeFromHarm campaign and watch out for updates on the campaign on this page and in our news area
